Economic Bubbles

I read a few articles the other other day about the economy. See “All the World’s a Bubble” & “Housing Bubble Boondoggle“. I’m not sure I can see the economic future now any better than when I was attempting to see when the job market would pick up for me.

Japan was in a nasty economic slump for 10 years that was as severe as the depression in the US in the 30’s. Everyone likes to think they are too smart for that to happen again. I think controlling an economy is kind of like controlling a river. Most of the time you are successful, but at a certain point all your controls are used up and you have to stand back and watch. There have been several examples from my river analogy the last dozen years or so. Time will tell if there are more serious economic disasters to come.
